RESEARCH CORES

The BT1D team has access to the two research cores. The Core has been instrumental in providing essential services and expertise in immune modulation and gene editing in stem cell populations.

Please acknowledge Core Usage in all publications resulting from full or partial use of our services, as this supports future grant renewals.

Stem Cell Core

  • Main objectives are to gene edit human stem cell populations and to direct the differentiation of such cells to generate pancreatic islet and immune cells. With extensive experience in all aspects of gene editing, directed differentiation of human stem cells towards endocrine and T cell lineages, as well as functional analysis of such cells, the core will generate human stem cell derived islet and immune cells with the intent of implementing gene modifications derived from the investigative studies on human T1D samples.
