    BT1D NorCAL investigators celebrate the 2025 Nobel Prize of Physiology and Medicine awarded to Drs. Mary Brunkow, Fred Ramsdell, and Shimon Sakaguchi for their discovery of Tregs. Our work aims to harness the therapeutic potential of Tregs to treat T1D and promote immune tolerance to transplanted beta cells.

    The JDRF Northern California Center of Excellence annual meeting (held virtually) brought the scientific teams from UCSF and Stanford together for a half-day of presentations and data sharing from ongoing projects. The keynote presentation was provided by Dr. Doug Melton, Professor of Harvard Stem Cell Institute. Invited attendees included Karen Jordan, Esther Latres and Mark Fischer-Colbrie from JDRF.
